Marc Cornelius
Founder
Marc brings an unusual perspective to regulatory and compliance problems: he has spent his career both helping to make regulation and making it work in practice.
At the Financial Services Authority, Marc was the UK's lead technical expert in the EU negotiations that created MiFID I, before going on to lead negotiations on the Capital Requirements Directive. He subsequently moved into industry, holding senior regulatory and compliance roles at BP, Shell, TP ICAP, CEPSA Trading and Amius.
His experience spans regulatory strategy and engagement, energy and commodity trading, wholesale markets, market conduct, investigations, governance and the design and implementation of compliance frameworks. At Shell, he led major regulatory change programmes and industry engagement on MiFID II commodity exemptions; at TP ICAP, he led compliance for the global Energy & Commodities business and the regulatory and compliance work supporting the launch and FCA registration of its Fusion Digital Assets platform.
Marc is at his best where the answer isn't obvious: combining regulatory understanding, market experience and commercial judgment to help clients reach a clear view and turn it into something that works in practice.
